We are working with the Department of Human Services - Foster Care Department.
We want these children to have something of their very own to keep, comfort and know that someone was thinking about them as they travel in the DHS system either back to their biological parents home, a family member, group home, foster care home or independent living.
The quilts will be in a handmade tote, with a small bag of toiletries.

Update:
A big thanks from the Charitable Interest Committee for all the interest, questions, kits signed out, toiletries donated at the July our meetings…and our first donated quilts! To reiterate answers to a couple common questions:
We are looking for completed quilts. If you aren’t able to do the quilting yourself, we do have a couple wonderful ladies who have offered their long arm services. Please contact Lynn Havelka and Pat Stoval. Thank you ladies!
1. While 48x48 was the suggested size, the quilts can be bigger. However, we are not looking for bed size quilts – those will be too big for the kids to haul around. Think lap quilt size.
2. Toiletry bags – we do not have kits for these – at least not yet – there are many free patterns online for small bags. They should be sized to hold hotel size toiletries & toothbrush.
3. Speaking of toiletries – we had a bunch donated at meetings – thanks! We’ll assess where we are on those soon.
4. Tote Bags – most of the tote bag kits were signed out at the meeting & several of you picked up the pattern to use your own canvas. Thank you!
